COMPANY PICNICS

Each year, since 1977, EarthTrek caters to about 5000 people on our whitewater rafting trips on the American River plus more than 6000 school children on our Gold Rush Living History programs. Our beautiful campground has been the site for numerous weddings, music festivals, local benefit events, and many other large group functions. The experience we have gained after 30 years is evident to everyone who participates one of our raft trips or other group functions. We would like to invite you to visit our site and see for yourself why we think our facility and services would be perfect for your next company outing.

When is the best time?
Weather conditions are normally ideal from March thru November. Summer weekends tend to be the busiest times when rafters are enjoying the American River, especially Saturdays in July and August.

If you wish to combine rafting with your picnic, we suggest weekends from April thru June, Sundays in July and August, and weekends in September and October. Midweek dates are always better when the river is not as busy and we offer reduced rates.

Minimum and maximum group size requirements: We require a minimum of 30 paid participants to schedule an event. Our facility can comfortably accommodate up to 300 participants.

Picnic Schedule:
1 PM arrival. Drinks and appetizers served. Games available on the lawn.
2:30 PM meal served.
5-6 PM picnic ends.

Reservation Information: To reserve a date we require a $500 deposit with balance due no later than 7 days prior to your picnic.

Cancellation Policy: Your deposit is refundable, less a $100 cancellation charge up to 30 days prior to your event. Within 30 days your deposit is non-refundable. Within 7 days of your event, there is no refund except for rain conditions (see below).

What about rain?
Even though our camp has extensive canopies for rain protection, inclement weather can spoil and outdoor activity such as a picnic. For this reason we have a 24 hour full refund policy. If you wish to cancel your picnic due to a forecast of rainy weather we will reschedule your event or refund you in full as long as you notify us 24 hours before the start of your picnic.

Whitewater Rafting For the adventure seekers in your group we offer an optional morning adventure down the exciting Upper Chili Bar section of the South Fork American River. Rafters who sign up for this optional activity need to arrive at our camp (picnic location) at 9:30 AM. We will shuttle by bus up to Chili Bar to begin the 8 mile journey downstream to our camp. The rafting trip will conclude at about 1 PM, just in time for the start of the picnic. Showers are available.

Discounted rates for picnic participants: $95 Saturday, $85 Sunday, $75 midweek. Deduct $10 for kids 8-16
