We would like to thank you for providing us
with a wonderful rafting experience and for the gracious hospitality you
provided for our scout troop. We all look forward to joining you and your group
of professional guides for more river rafting, fun, excitement and great food
in the future.
Your merit badge program is unique among all
the rafting companies that we checked with. It provided our scouts with
experiences that they would not have had an opportunity to enjoy with your
competitors.
Again, thank you for a great time and we hope
to see you again in the near future.
Sincerely, Steve J.,

These special trips are available to organized youth groups
such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, YMCA, church youth
groups, community youth organizations, etc. These trips are the same
as our regular 1 and 2 day South Fork American River trips. Under normal water
conditions, a youth must be at least 8 years old to participate on these trips.
During rare times of high water flows we reserve the right to increase the age
minimum to 12 or 14 years old. We operate paddle rafts for maximum fun but for
groups with younger kids (8-12 years old) we reserve the right to operate oar
powered rafts.
Our low cost 2 day trips include 5 meals starting with
breakfast the first morning and ending with lunch the second day, prepared by
our guides. We do offer an option for youth groups who want to prepare their
own meals and save money on your trip. With prior arrangements from EarthTrek,
scout groups can use our second kitchen to prepare your own meals. EarthTrek
will still provide lunch the first day since this meal is served on the river.
All other meals can be provided by you and your group. If you wish, we can
customize your trip and provide some of the meals and you provide the
others.
A raft trip down the South Fork American is a wonderful experience
for Boy Scout Troops. BSA has changed the requirements for a
whitewater merit badge as testing must be done in a kayak or whitewater
canoe so we are no longer able to offer the merit badge program.
A community service award can be earned by scouts who wish
to participate in special projects at our local county and state
parks. Call EarthTrek for information.
These low rates are available to youth groups
with 12 or more rafters.
